John DiMarco - Meritorious Service

John has been bowling for many years. He bowls in many leagues. John is an ambassador for the sport of bowling. He enjoys being around people; he is a people's person. John served on the Dutchess/Putnam BA Board as Vice President. For many years, his duties included lane certifications, Nominating Committee and managing many of the Dutchess/Putnam tournaments. He would deliver awards to each bowling center at least twice a week to present the winners with their awards personally. John has stated many times how he enjoyed that role; it gave him great pleasure.

In the early years, John would help with the Phil Versace column that was published every Thursday on bowling in the Poughkeepsie Journal. John loves bowling. When we have tournaments, you will find he has entered on several different teams and doubles pairs and the singles event. He really supports bowling, inviting all his friends to enter tournaments. He has helped start many leagues throughout his years of bowling. Because of his direct support, organization, coordination and participation in all association tournaments and many leagues, he is one of the most popular bowlers in the county. He is without a doubt a gentle-man, and all-around friend to the bowling community both on and off the lanes.

For these reasons, his bowling buddies nominated him for this honor and makes John an ideal recipient to be inducted into the HVUSBC Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service. Congratulations John!
